Wind Energy

Wind energy is a renewable energy which produces no harmful emissions or waste products, ensuring protection for the environment

The UK has 40% of the total European wind resource – an untapped potential, in theory sufficient to meet double the country’s electricity requirements

Each unit of electricity generated from the wind displaces one produced by a power station burning fossil fuel, with an associated saving of 860 grams of CO2

Provide affordable energy: Wind farms are already generating electricity more cheaply than new nuclear power and should be able to challenge gas as the lowest cost power source by 2010
